Appreciation for the small things – Flowers and fields

Standard

Week of 10-Oct-2022

One of the many not-so-small things I appreciate about Oregon is the amazing views that I get. Mountains, skylines, sunsets, and oceans… Desert sunsets and forest sunrises. Light filtering through the moss… It’s stunning, and gives perfect little daily reminders about how excellent the natural world can be.

Not all of those views are found in the deep woods, or high mountain passes either… beauty is everywhere, even in a short stroll around the apartment after work.

Summer in Wilsonville – more pretty photos!

Late spring and early Summer, 2022
Wilsonville, Oregon

Man… how’s it already over halfway through the year? What the heck, right?

At the same time, ask me about something that happened in March or April of this year, and I’ll guess that it actually went down a year or two ago. Literally – I was looking through old photos, and was like

“Wait, I haven’t been to Smith this year! When did I… Ohh. March. Right! That was really moving and impactful!”

So… yeah. Weird year. It’s what the trauma of our insane and untenable world will do to you, ya know?

That, and… beautiful photo opportunities!!

The spring sky, and flowers in the rain

One of the things I enjoy about Oregon is how interesting the weather can be. Gorgeous clouds, rain, summer heat, everything. It’s always fairly mild, and (in my opinion) almost always leads to really beautiful views and images!

Another awesome part of Oregon? Roses!

Combine the plethora of roses with the interesting weather and lighting… and well…

See for yourself!
