Wilsonville Beauty (more)

Standard

April, 2024

Just two quick pictures this time… but they’re so pretty!

My frequent walks around Wilsonville continue to aid my planning process. Back when I was at Raytheon, I’d pretty regularly take walks around the campus to clear my head and let ideas percolate… Now, I just get better views!

Spring is… springing! Oregon Edition!

Early March, 2024

Oregon is simply magnificent in the spring.

Seriously – I love New England, and can’t wait to explore (and love, I hope) Europe, but I can’t imagine anywhere else in the world that has the same explosion of flowering growth that Oregon does in the spring. It’s staggering – it really feels like one day there’s empty tree limbs, and the next day the entire world is covered in the beautifully delicate flowers falling from Dogwoods, Magnolias, and Cherry Trees.

Alongside the explosion of flowers, the warm days have crested over us pretty solidly at this point. Shorts and tee shirts are the name of the game, and the Mustang is getting a lot of top-down driving time in. It’s lovely, beautiful, and all of those great adjectives that make us all happy for the growing things in the world.

I won’t wax on any further… instead, just enjoy some of the beautiful views that I’ve had:

A fancy dinner and pretty flowers

Nice dinners out are a real treat, you know? Similar to how I’ve been working on slowing down and appreciating the little things in life, I’ve recently been trying to make a point to eat out more, as strange as that may sound, in an effort to appreciate the variety and interesting characteristics of the places I’m in.

Yeah, it hurts my budget a bit… but frankly, I’m positive toward supporting the local flavor. And I’m getting something else for my money, aside from the good feelings from supporting local and the tasty meals that come with it… I’m learning more recipes!

I mean, how many of my favorite dishes come from reverse-engineering meals I’ve had at restaurants, hmm? Exactly – a whole ton of them!

So enjoy a few quick pictures from Jess and my’s wanderings around her neighborhood, ending at a delicious little local Italian spot.
