A Wilsonville relaxation – The continuation of a Garden

“How’s your garden going?”, you may ask… well, the answer is that Hops vines grow like crazy, and that I’m already having to train them back and try to convince them not to engulf my entire apartment building.

Okay, maybe it’s not THAT intense… but hey! Check out how crazy they’re going!

And also check out my Avocado trees! And the neighbors little garden box! And I went to the Portland Nursery to get MORE SEEDS!

I’m excited, okay?

A Wilsonville relaxation – The start of a Garden

While I was away in Dublin, my garden was busily growing and sprouting! I’d left some planted seedlings and dormant hops, and came back to stalks reaching out of the dirt by nearly two full feet… not to mention my indoor plants happily sprouting upward (though looking a little thirsty, I’ll freely admit…)

My first few evenings back in the States, I took it easy. I unpacked, organized all the fun things I brought home, caught up with friends, and cared for the growing things in my care. I watered, I fertilized, and I pruned where necessary.

Mostly, I appreciated the greenery, being in my own home, and the quiet of living outside the city.

Appreciation for the small things – Flowers and fields

One of the many not-so-small things I appreciate about Oregon is the amazing views that I get. Mountains, skylines, sunsets, and oceans… Desert sunsets and forest sunrises. Light filtering through the moss… It’s stunning, and gives perfect little daily reminders about how excellent the natural world can be.

Not all of those views are found in the deep woods, or high mountain passes either… beauty is everywhere, even in a short stroll around the apartment after work.
