Thanksgiving in New England – Friendsgiving

Thanksgiving! Last year, Thanksgiving was a bit too busy for me to fly back to the United States… classes, and general insanity, conspired to keep me in Dublin. Which, frankly, was a perfectly lovely time with friends and classmates. 2025, however, had none of those challenges… and thus, saw Andrea and I winging our way to New England for a well-deserved holiday…

After Thanksgiving? Friendsgiving!

As with our first Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving was magical. Great table settings, excellent food, good friends, and excellent times. Good memories and happy times!

Well. We’re finally here in the story – Thanksgiving!

We drove up from New York City. We had snacks, but we mainly saved our appetites… and when we arrived? That decision was absolutely the right one.

Infinite amazing food. Infinite smells, intense excitement, and all the happy greetings.

There’s not really much to say here – it was Thanksgiving, everything I could have asked for or hoped to have. Andrea, my family, all meshed together into a happy and excited pile of catching up, trading stories, eating great food and going for lovely walks.

Seriously – I adore Thanksgiving.

Bread and sweetness – Rosh Hashanah!

Really, I’m just writing posts about every day of my life, now, I guess.

Take this as a quite meta-comment on the blog, and why I’m posting such short stories for each entry… life is HECTIC right now. Everything, all at once, all the time, forever.

Most of the things are good, to be clear. But even constant good things gets tiring after a while… one thing I’ve learned to appreciate is the down time, the quiet bits between excitement. Something I got a lot of, in Oregon, that I’m realizing is a bit lacking from my current world…

Monday! Rosh Hashanah! Fresh made sourdough bread, by my amazing love!
