Thanksgiving in Dublin – Friendsgiving 2.0

We’re not leaving Thanksgiving behind, just because the New England Thanksgiving adventure is over.

Ohh, no no no! We have friends back in Dublin! Ireland needs to be introduced to Thanksgiving! Turkeys need roasting, wreaths need decorating, and sides need devouring.

Friends arrived, meals were laid out, and excellent conversation flowed nearly as freely as the mulled wine. Our apartment was arranged as a huge table, and neighbors brought extra chairs along for the festivities.

It was a lovely welcome-home.

Thanksgiving! Last year, Thanksgiving was a bit too busy for me to fly back to the United States… classes, and general insanity, conspired to keep me in Dublin. Which, frankly, was a perfectly lovely time with friends and classmates. 2025, however, had none of those challenges… and thus, saw Andrea and I winging our way to New England for a well-deserved holiday…

The Museum of Fine Art in Boston always feels, in my mind at least, paired with the Museum of Science.

But I hadn’t been to the Museum of Science in ages. And Andrea had never been.

So we went!

We explored, saw a Spot robot, I fought a T-Rex, and even ate dippin’ dots!

With this, the adventure in New England ends.

Not in the Museum of Science, of course – there was dinner afterward, along with a drive to Logan airport and then a whole flight across the Atlantic, but this ends the parts interesting enough to post to the blog.

A long and lovely visit, full of excitement and joy at seeing the same things I grew up with through different eyes.

Just a quick photo of a beautiful view of Boston. As mentioned earlier in the blog, I really do appreciate showing someone new around town… it helps me see something that I “know” with fresh eyes, and to appreciate things that I may otherwise just glaze over.

For example, this lovely view of the Boston skyline at night!
